How to Clean Your Leather Boots

Leather boots are great for colder days, both stylish and practical ways. While the leather is a tough material, you should be very careful when cleaning it. An inappropriate care can lead to the breakdown and discoloration of the material.

Of course leather boots can get wear-and-tear like a leather jacket, particularly when you walk a lot. Here are some points to ensure a durable life of leather boots:
  • First of all, you need to find out whether the leather of your boot is treated or untreated. Since leather is made of cow’s skin, it is naturally porous and also susceptible to water stains. You can treat boots with a wax or oil product. It is a good idea to purchase a shoe brush for an application, but a cotton rag works as well.
  • Prior to applying the protective product, make sure that you clean the shoes first of grime, dust and dirt. Use a dry cloth and with it a little bit with water and gently scrub. Be extra cautious around seams and zippers. Quality leather boots like Ferrini boots can be cleaned easily by following a few easy steps.
  • Use a brush or rag with a fair amount of wax or oil product to your boots, particularly the seams. Ensure that the leather soaks in completely.
  • Now use a clean cloth to wipe away the excess products which are left behind. Avoid wearing leather boots for the next 24 hours as it requires time to penetrate the leather.
Be more careful while cleaning cowboy boots. An old guys rule so it is important to care for such cowboy boots in an appropriate way.
